Product Disclaimer
Sterility matters. In research, it’s not just about accuracy, it’s about consistency from the very first step.
Product Features
Some lyophilized research peptides resist dissolution in neutral aqueous solvents, staying cloudy or forming a gel when bacteriostatic water alone is used. Acetic Solution 3ml is a dilute acetic acid vehicle that lowers the pH of the reconstitution environment, protonating charged residues and disrupting the aggregation that holds these peptides out of solution. Researchers typically inject the solvent slowly along the inside wall of the vial, then swirl gently until the powder dissolves into a clear preparation. Intended strictly for in-vitro laboratory research handling.
When should researchers choose an acidic solvent over bacteriostatic water? When a lyophilized peptide stays cloudy, gels, or does not fully dissolve in neutral bacteriostatic water. Peptides with basic residues or a tendency to aggregate often enter solution more readily in a mildly acidic environment.
How is the solution used during reconstitution? Researchers generally add the solvent slowly along the inside wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder, then swirl gently without shaking. If the material begins to gel, adding a little more solvent incrementally can help it finish dissolving.
Why does a mildly acidic environment improve dissolution? Lowering the pH protonates charged residues on the peptide, raising its net positive charge and the electrostatic repulsion between molecules. This disrupts the hydrophobic self-association and hydrogen bonding that cause certain lyophilized peptides to clump or gel.
